Top five tips to prepare for your boudoir photoshoot.
As a boudoir photographer with a proven track record, I’ve learned a thing or two about how to prepare for your boudoir shoot. Here are my top five tips:
1. Drink water.
Your boudoir session may feel like a mini-workout, so it’s important to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot and on the day of. This will also help flush your system and make your complexion look radiant.
2. Book a spray tan in advance.
If you like having a natural glow, a spray tan a few days before your session can look great in photos. For best results, book your tan 2-3 days before your shoot and rinse off the night before.
3. Come with a clean face and clean, dry hair.
Hair and makeup are included in all of my sessions, so come with a clean face and dry hair. This will help your stylist create the perfect look for your shoot.
4. Bring more than enough outfits.
It’s always better to bring too many outfits than not enough. I recommend bringing 5-6 outfit changes. This will give you options in case you end up not liking something the day of the shoot, and it will also allow you to walk away with a greater variety of photos.
5. Plan to be in the studio for 3-4 hours.
Between hair and makeup and the actual shooting time, you will be in the studio for 3-4 hours. For this reason, be sure to book on a day you don’t have a lot going on. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy your session without worrying about time constraints.
Bonus tip: Don’t be afraid to ask your photographer for help. They are there to support you and make you feel comfortable. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to speak up.
I hope these tips help you prepare for your upcoming boudoir shoot!
